Class of 2012 Largest in Loyola History Loyola’s Class of 2012 tops the enrollment charts at 1,068 members, making it the largest class enrolled in the university’s history. “Loyola has had another strong admission cycle in relation to the quality of our applicants and their interest in making Loyola their home for four years,” said Elena Hicks, director of undergraduate admission. “The Class of 2011 had 992 members start last fall, and our goal was to enroll 1,000 in the Class of 2012. The fact that we admitted nearly the same number of students this year as last, yet we had almost 100 additional students accept our offer of admission, reflects positively on the quality of the Jesuit education Loyola offers and its appeal to a growing number of students.” The incoming class evolved from an applicant pool of more than 7,600. Although fewer students applied this year, the Class of 2012 remains a very high-achieving group of students. The SAT scores of the mid-50 percent of the class ranged from 1113 to 1270 and the mean unweighted grade point average was 3.56. The class hails from 31 states and six countries. Nearly 60 percent of the students are women and 14 percent are students of color. |
