With big hearts and tired feet, Loyola College students raised $150,000 during their 12-hour Relay for Life event in March. This year's fundraising topped last year's $145,000 contribution, which was the best among colleges with enrollment of 5,000 or less.

Siblings bond during Little Sibs Weekend

Spending the weekend in close quarters with a younger sibling may seem more like punishment than fun, unless it takes place during Little Siblings Weekend at Loyola College. On March 23, nearly 200 siblings of Loyola students, ages 6-17, arrived on campus to begin an action-packed weekend of events.

Wild ’N Crazy Sibs, modeled after Nickelodeon’s cartoon series, Wild ’N Crazy Kids, began with a comedy show presented by Loyola’s Improv Troupe, a karaoke pizza party and a Midnight Breakfast. Saturday’s events included a trip to Baltimore’s Inner Harbor and Port Discovery, ice skating and a casino night. Students and siblings played for prizes such as iPods, DVD players, games and movies. Parents reunited with their children for a family Mass on Sunday, followed by a brunch which was highlighted by a slide show recapturing the bonding and fun that took place during the weekend activities.

Little Siblings Weekend, an annual event on campus, was organized by the Resident Affairs Council (RAC), a branch of the Student Government Association that serves to improve the life of residential students by promoting social and educational events for individual residence halls and the college.
