The Study offers quiet refuge As the conclusion of the academic year approaches, students may need additional support and quiet space to prepare for final exams. For the past 15 years, Loyola’s Center for Academic Services and Support has operated a study room with tutoring support services for students. Open about 90 hours each week throughout the year, The Study is located on the third floor of Jenkins Hall and provides a large, open space with comfortable chairs and tables for independent study as well as designated rooms for tutoring. Nearly 60 tutors, trained through a Level 1 College Reading and Learning Association certified program, are employed at The Study. Available to all undergraduate students, The Study offers a range of services, including peer tutoring, study skills workshops, individual academic support and note-taking assistance. These resources provide comprehensive learning assistance that enables students to become successful, independent learners. Brendan Morrison, '10, enjoys the quiet and comfort of The Study as he prepares for final exams.
