Loyola’s Parents’ Fund on pace for record year The level of support and involvement of Loyola’s parent community has long been one of the College’s greatest strengths. The Parents' Fund, a significant component of the annual Evergreen Fund, is one of the most significant examples of this extraordinary level of parent engagement. For over a decade, more than 50 percent of Loyola’s current parents have contributed to the Parents’ Fund, with more than 60 percent participating in each of the past four years.
This remarkable level of parent participation is a tremendous endorsement of the educational experience Loyola provides. Last year, 2,016 parents of current students supported the College with annual gifts totaling over $533,000, a new record for the Parents’ Fund. This year, the Parents’ Fund is on pace for yet another record year, with commitments from current parents already surpassing $490,000 in 2007-08. The Parents’ Fund is supported through the volunteer efforts of The Executive Council of Parents, a leadership group comprised of over 100 member couples, under the leadership of National Co-Chaircouples Robert and Patricia Mills (parents of Michael '09) and Randy and Susan Falco (parents of Jessica '09, Matthew '04 and Michael '01). Executive Council of Parents member couples act as ambassadors for Loyola by promoting its mission and the exceptional academic experience the College provides. Member couples endorse the Parents’ Fund through their own leadership giving and encourage others to support Loyola when contacted by our student Phonathon associates. The Parents’ Fund fiscal year runs from September through May, and gifts are tax-deductible for the calendar year in which they are made.
