Special Interest: Fiction
Where you’re from: Livingston, New Jersey

A favorite quote: From 10 Things I Hate About You: “Don’t let anyone ever make you feel like you don’t deserve what you want.”

Favorite place to go in Baltimore: A yarn store called “Lovelyarns” in Hampden. Saturday morning “stich-n-bitch” sessions are always a hoot!

Music I like: On rotation lately have been Radiohead, Django Reinhardt, Beirut, La Oreja de Van Gogh, Lupe Fiasco, The Ting Tings, Stevie Wonder, Sigur Ros, Hanson, The Strokes, and, like a true Jersey girl, Bruce Springsteen.

Early reading or writing memory: I loved the Carl books when I was little (stories about a dog named Carl and a baby he babysits—they’re mostly illustrations, if you’re not familiar with them), and I used to write in my own words. Of course this was when I was three, so I didn’t know how to write yet, but apparently I narrated, too, so my parents could listen along.

What’s the most interesting place you’ve been? Where would you like to go?: It would be hard to pick one, but the top three most interesting so far have been Mobile, Alabama, Guasto, Italy (a tiny town where my grandpa is from), and Barcelona, Spain. I’d like to go everywhere, to be honest, but next on the list is, hopefully, Peru.
