Charm City Cinema Series continues Apr. 11 with two films

On Wednesday, April 11th, the Charm City Cinema program will be showing two films in the Reading Room (3rd Floor Andrew White Student Center), beginning at 9:00 pm.

The first film is William H. Whyte's The Social Life of Small Urban Spaces (1988, USA).  This witty and original film is about the open spaces of cities and why some of them work for people while others don't. Beginning at New York's Seagram Plaza, one of the most used open areas in the city, the film proceeds to analyze why this space is so popular and how other urban oases, both in New York and elsewhere, measure up.

The second film is Little Castles (1988, USA) by director Skizz Cyzyk.  Little Castles is one of the first in-depth, historical examinations of the concrete creation. And the 30-minute film--produced and researched by Lillian Bowers, directed and edited by Skizz Cyzyk--uncovers numerous little-known facts about Formstone, which first began changing the Baltimore's face some 60 years ago.

Both films are free and open to the public.  For more information, contact Patricia Ingram at 410-617-2617.
