Spring Meet and Eat celebrates “The Treasures of Women” Loyola College’s Center for Community Service and Justice hosts its Spring Meet and Eat on Thursday, March 29 from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. in McGuire Hall. Timed to coincide with Women’s History Month in March, the event welcomes female guests from shelters throughout the Baltimore area. More than 100 people are expected to attend. Held twice each academic year since 1993, Meet and Eat events provide an opportunity for members of the College Community to meet and share a meal with members of the greater Baltimore community. “Our hope is to create an environment that truly speaks to the treasure we all are as women and how each of us has much to offer the world by just being ourselves,” says MaryAnne Cappelleri, Assistant Director of Service, Faith and Poverty Concerns in the Center for Community Service and Justice. Loyola’s Meet and Eat participants attend a meeting prior to the event to learn about the various organizations that will be represented. After the event, participants reflect on their experiences and discuss what they learned. This event is sponsored by the Center for Community Service and Justice in partnership with the Marian House, the Micah House, the Caroline Center, My Sister’s Place Lodge, Beans and Bread Outreach Center, and the Women’s Center.
