Lighting of Washington Monument kicks off City's holiday season Baltimore will be aglow for the holiday season with the official lighting of the Washington Monument. The December 7th event, dubbed "A Monumental Occasion," features entertainment, fireworks and refreshments. The lighting ceremony takes place at 7:00pm; pre-event festivities begin an hour earlier at Mount Vernon Place in the 600 block of North Charles Street. The event is produced in conjunction with Downtown Partnership of Baltimore and the Baltimore Department of Recreation and Parks. |
