Panel of Baltimore writers to appear Oct. 6 Loyola College in Maryland's Department of Writing welcomes a panel of writers living and working in Baltimore on Friday, Oct. 6 at 3 p.m. in McManus Theater on the College's North Charles Street campus.
The panel, which will focus on the challenges, responsibilities, pleasures, dangers and far-reaching impact of writing about a large and complex American city like Baltimore, includes Fred Rasmussen, columnist and archivist for The Sun; Dan Rodricks, columnist for The Sun and co-host of WBAL Radio’s The Buzz; Laura Wexler, author, senior editor of Style magazine and organizer of The Stoop Storytelling Series; and Clarinda Harriss, award-winning poet, essayist and Professor of English at Towson University.
The panel is part of a Writing Department program in which Loyola students will celebrate the Year of the City by writing about Baltimore. The work of freshman essayists will be gathered in an anthology to be published next summer. |
