Loyolapalooza Offers Live Music, Food, Games and Fun for the Whole Family

Loyolapalooza, a highly anticipated annual festival featuring live music, games and food, will welcome College faculty, administrators and staff as well as members of the greater Baltimore Community to the Evergreen Campus on Sunday, April 29 from noon to 6 p.m. This year’s event, organized by the Student Government Association, Student Activities and the Year of the City, will add campus tours and a host of other child- and family-friendly events to the usual slate of amusements.

Activities planned include live music from The Format, Guster and the winner of Loyola’s Battle of the Bands competition; a craft show; a basketball clinic hosted by Men’s Basketball coach Jimmy Patsos and Women’s Basketball coach Joe Logan; a moon bounce.

The day also features the premier of the Restoring Baltimore showcase, a montage of oral histories of Baltimore neighborhoods created by Loyola students. The showcase will be screened in McManus Theatre at 12:30 p.m. and 2 p.m.

More than 2,000 people typically attend each year’s Loyolapalooza festival. Organizer’s of the 2007 event hope to see at least 1,000 more people this year.
