Julio Fine Arts Gallery Presents Exhibition “Urban Visions” In conjunction with the 2007 Humanities Symposium “Urban Spaces, Urban Voices,” the Julio Fine Arts Gallery of Loyola College presents an exhibition that features the work of Baltimore artists and writers. The exhibition, “Urban Visions,” includes works by: Photojournalist Andre F. Chung and journalist Liz Bowie, both of The Baltimore Sun. Their work includes a series of articles “On Their Own” that they produced together and published in The Sun. Ellis Marsalis III (t.p. Luce), a poet and photographer, and author of the book “thaBloc” and a companion website with the same name. Tony Shore, a painter who uses velvet for his canvas and depicts life of the residents of Pig Town. Dee Herget and Tom Lipka, two of Baltimore’s original screen painters, a craft that has seen a resurgence of interest in the last few years.
“Urban Visions” opens on the 25th of January and runs until the 23rd of February. A panel discussion will take place in the McManus Theatre on Wednesday, February 21 from 3:30 to 5:00 pm. with a reception in the gallery from 5:00 to 7:00 pm.
