What is it? Symantec (a.k.a Norton) Antivirus is an application that safeguards your computer from virus infection. It will protect your hard drives, floppy disks, email attachments and others from viruses. How do I get it? A free copy of Symantec is available for all Loyola students. It is on the RezNet CD you received when you moved into your residential hall. If you have lost your copy of the CD, please stop by the Technology Service Center to get another copy. How do I install it? First, remove any other AntiVirus programs you may have on your computer. From the Start Menu, go to Settings, and click on Control Panel. In the window that appears, click on "Add/Remove programs", highlight your old AntiVirus software and uninstall or remove it. To install, click on Symantec in the Optional Software section of the RezNet CD. It will install it automatically, as well as configure it to download virus definitions every day. |
