iGoForth: Loyola’s Mobile App Incubator

image divider

iGoForthiGoForth is a program sponsored by technology services where students, faculty, or administrators can pitch ideas for Loyola mobile apps. Teams of students build the apps - an excellent learning experience and one which they can tout on their resumes! Successful apps can be submitted to the app store and one winning app will win a prize!

The third annual student mobile app development contest has begun. Last year's contest saw two amazing teams develop great apps, with the FAC Tracker app taking home the prize. Now it is your turn to make history, either by submitting an idea for an app, or joining a student team to help create magic.

Submit Your App Ideas!

Technology services will be sponsoring iGoForth again for the 2015-16 academic year. Anyone with an idea for making life at Loyola, or the York Road corridor, better, please submit your idea – it could be a winner! The mobile apps will be created using Adobe Digital Publishing Suite (DPS), so content-centric mobile apps are the focus.

As an idea advocate, you will become part of the team and help the team with requirements, testing, and verification of the app. In addition, if the team produces the winning app based on your idea, you will share in the prize money. Our advisory team of faculty, students, administrators, alumni, and industry experts will review the submissions, make sure the app isn’t already commercially available, and choose five app ideas for iGoForth student teams to select from. Selections will be made on the following criteria:

  • Viability – Will the app work well on a mobile platform?
  • Feasibility – Is the idea one our developer teams can design and implement within six months?
  • Uniqueness – Will this app solve a problem or provide functionality that does not already exist?
