Ashley Jean

  • Class of 2014

  • Degree BBA Accounting and Information Systems

Originally from a small town in, Ashley Jean enrolled at Loyola because she was drawn to the hustle and bustle of Baltimore—as well as to Loyola’s prestigious business school and Jesuit values. The 2014 graduate received her Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting and Information Systems and, while working in the accounting field, taught herself how to code on evenings and weekends. She participated in the B’More on Rails Workshop for Women and met women who inspired her to pursue a career in coding. Today Ashley works as a software developer at mdlogix and remains involved with Baltimore area organizations for women interested in STEM careers. “If you can grab on person with you on the pathway to success, do it!” says Ashley, who attributes her success to her teachers at Loyola and to opportunities to continue growing and learning in new fields. She is paying it forward as an active volunteer with the B’More on Rails Workshop for Women and as co-organizer for the Baltimore Hackathon. Additionally, Ashley helps with Code in Schools, a program that provides high school students with the necessary tools and resources to be successful in the technology field after graduation.
