Brianne Roos, Ed.D., CCC-SLP, grew up in Manhasset, N.Y., holds both a Bachelor of Arts in Speech-Language-Hearing Science and Spanish (2001) and a Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology (2004) from Loyola University Maryland. Roos, who is pursuing her doctorate at Johns Hopkins University, has been a member of Loyola's faculty since 2008. She encourages her students to embrace every opportunity during their undergraduate careers, and she believes the Speech-Language-Hearing Sciences department trains students to become outstanding professionals in their field. She also encourages them to develop sincere relationships with future patients. “Loyola’s Jesuit, liberal arts-based education demands that we go further and consider our patients as whole people by investing in understanding the impact of the communication disorder on our patients’ roles as family members, colleagues, and members of society,” she says. Roos’ clinical practice and research focus on adult neurology, communication disorders, and the impact of stress on college students.
