  • Class of2021

  • Major, MinorBiology, Chemistry

As a biology major who is minoring in chemistry, Cailin says she has gained invaluable experience for her career in medicine by volunteering in the emergency department at Mercy Medical Center through Health Outreach Baltimore. She is also a member of the Pre-Health Society. Her favorite thing about Loyola is the supportive academic environment she has found here. “Having independence and working in an active, hands-on environment are important for me,” says Cailin, who also serves as a peer tutor for other chemistry students through The Study. Her passion for helping others comes alive through her involvement with community service. She volunteers with Soccer Without Borders as a tutor for refugee middle school students; she also prepares and serves meals to people experiencing homelessness in Baltimore every Sunday through Soul Kitchen. Cailin, who is originally from Farmington, Conn., will be working as a medical assistant at Mercy Medical Center after she graduates from Loyola and doing research during her gap year as she applies to medical school.

Both the academic material and skills and applications that I have attained from my classes have prepared me for what's next after Loyola.
