  • Class of 2021

  • Major, Minor Biology, Writing

Flor, who lives in Annapolis, Md. and is originally from Cordoba, Argentina, fell in love with the community atmosphere while visiting Loyola. She feels the Evergreen campus lives up to its name—and one of her favorite things to do is to walk around campus and take in the lush, green landscape. Flor is a biology and writing interdisciplinary major who also serves as a Campus Ministry Intern, where she teaches Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults classes on campus. Her involvement with Health Outreach Baltimore has provided influential networking experience with Baltimore-area medical professionals and reaffirmed her desire to serve others. She aspires to work in the medical field and advocate for accessible health care. “Follow your passions no matter what,” Flor shares with her fellow students. “Loyola’s professors and advisors are here to provide guidance.” One of her own mentors, Allen Brizee, Ph.D., associate professor of writing, helped her transform her love for writing into a potential career path within the medical field. Flor will be attending Johns Hopkins School of Nursing after graduation. “I am very excited to continue my studies in the nursing field, especially during the times we are living in, and I look forward to the chance to serve others through medicine.”

My Jesuit education has allowed me to serve others, which is ultimately what I want to do in my future health profession. Learning more about my own spiritual Catholic identity has allowed me to grow as a person while following my passions.”
