- Class of 2018
- Major, Minor Communication, Marketing
When Francesca was looking at colleges, she knew she wanted to major in communication. She was drawn to Loyola's program—and especially to the opportunity for a capstone project during her senior year: "When I saw the impressive work the students did and how friendly the professors were, I immediately decided that was the major I wanted to pursue at Loyola," she says. As president of the Student Government Association, she is dedicated to raising awareness and the presence of SGA on campus. "We have a lot of responsibilities, but also the ability to really ignite change on campus. I want to be sure that if a student has a question or concern, they can bring it to SGA knowing we can either do something directly, begin a conversation, or be a resource," she says. During her time at Loyola, Francesca has been involved with Alpha Sigma Nu, the international Jesuit honor society, the Evergreens, and in weekly service at Govan's Elementary School.

I strongly believe the core curriculum helps Loyola students to become well-rounded individuals. Opposed to just skimming the surface, the core allowed me to dive into other studies outside my field. This opened up relationships with faculty and provided me with a diverse way of thinking, allowing me to stand out in my internship interviews and experiences.
