For Terrell, having the freedom to achieve academic success through Loyola’s online Emerging Media program while working full time has set him up for further career advancement. As an e-commerce operations manager for Ulta Beauty, he manages a team of 30-40 associates; his goal is to enter into a corporate social media role where he can work on branding and messaging. Terrell, who is originally from Philadelphia, Pa., earned his B.A. in Psychology (with minors in communication and philosophy) from Lycoming College. He also holds several certificates, including a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt from Drexel University, a Continuous Improvement Lean Manufacturing Certification, and a Social Media Marketing and Strategy Certification from Udemy. Terrell says Erin Richardson, director of program operations for the Emerging Media program, Greg Hoplamazian, Ph.D., associate professor of communication, and Paola Pascual-Ferrá, Ph.D., assistant professor of communication, all helped him feel ready to take on the next chapter of his career. His advice to future Emerging Media students: “Be open to everything and realize there is always more to learn.”
