- Class of 2019
- Major, Minor Accounting, Information Systems
After researching career paths and an internship with a commercial real estate developer, Thomas declared accounting major and a minor in information systems. He aims to one day become a senior-level financial executive. At Loyola, he appreciates the skills he gains through the liberal arts education, as well as his courses in the Sellinger School of Business. “Loyola’s strong sense of community and active student body are important to me,” he says. In addition to his internships with Federal Business Centers and Newmark Knight Frank, one highlight has been participating as a member of a team and winning PricewaterhouseCoopers’ Challenge competition. “Collaborating with team members over the span of a week to create and present a solution to a complex business problem was valuable,” he says. “My team utilized many of the skills emphasized at Loyola, including presentation skills, critical thinking, and teamwork.” Following his graduation in May, Thomas will begin an assurance internship with PricewaterhouseCoopers in New Jersey, which he hopes will lead to a full-time position beginning in fall 2020. Before that, however, Thomas returns to campus in September as a graduate student in Loyola’s Master of Accounting program.
