- Class of 2018
- Program Master in Accounting
Connecticut native Tyler Beech received her bachelor’s degree in Accounting with a minor in Information Systems from Loyola University Maryland in 2017. She decided to continue her education and enrolled in the Master of Accounting (MAcc) program. “This is a great transition tool into the working world,” Tyler says. “It allows for additional time and information to study for the CPA exam, while also achieving the extra 30 credit hours needed to be licensed as a CPA.” Tyler works as a graduate assistant for Loyola’s accounting department and a finance clerk at McCormick & Co. in Hunt Valley, Md., and is gaining additional field experience as a tax intern at RSM in downtown Baltimore. After she completes her master's degree, Tyler's main focus will be to study for and pass as many sections of the CPA as she can before she begins working full-time; she plans to apply to private firms that have a mission she is passionate about. "Professor JP Krahel, Ph.D., had the biggest impact on me throughout my time at Loyola," says Tyler. "He made me excited about getting into accounting and has always been a great advisor and friend in my time here."

On my first tour of campus, I fell in love with Loyola. During my four years here as an undergraduate student, I was inspired by many of my professors and made life-long friendships that made me want to continue my education at Loyola for my graduate degree.
