- Class of 2019
- Majors Biology and Chemistry
A biochemistry major from Silver Spring, Md., Vanday chose Loyola because of the smaller student-to-faculty ratio and its location. The proximity of campus and access to Baltimore has allowed him to explore the city and get involved in ways that have enhanced both his college experience and his career preparation. Working with Loyola’s sports medicine department through Health Outreach Baltimore and his experience shadowing a physician solidified his career ambitions in the field of sports medicine. His involvement in Loyola's Pre-Health Programs has allowed him to build personal relationships with his professors and his peers—and helped him develop critical time management and social skills, which have proved essential to his academic success at Loyola and which will be critical to his future in health care. One of Vanday’s favorite things about Loyola is the many opportunities students have to give back to the community. He is involved in campus with Acts4Youth, Soccer Without Borders, WLOY Loyola Radio, the Black Student Association, and Man2Man.

I love the countless opportunities to be a part of Baltimore through Loyola’s community outreach programs. At the same time, I love the close and lasting relationships I have made with the faculty and students on Loyola’s campus.
