Subject: Protecting the health of our Loyola community
Dear Loyola Families,
With all the concern around the novel coronavirus, COVID-19, I wanted to reach out to assure you that Loyola is actively—and proactively—taking steps to promote the health of our students and our entire community. At this point, there are currently no confirmed cases of COVID-19 at Loyola University Maryland or in the state of Maryland, but we are taking every step to prepare. We will also continue to keep our COVID-19 information page updated.
As the president of Loyola, I am deeply grateful to you for entrusting your students and their education to our care. The faculty, staff, administrators, and I recognize the tremendous honor and responsibility that comes with that trust. I assure you that every decision we make during this situation will be made with discernment and the utmost consideration and care for our students and their families.
As I look back on some of troubling times we have experienced as a community in the past, I think of how those were moments when we truly lived out our mission as a Jesuit, Catholic institution where every individual is cared for and valued. Whatever lies ahead, I know we will approach those challenges as a community inspired by faith and with the greatest concern for one another.
God bless you and your family, and know you are in my prayers.
Sincerely,
Rev. Brian F. Linnane, S.J.
President
