August 6, 2021 - Indoor mask mandate reinstated

Dear Members of the Loyola Community,

Yesterday Baltimore Mayor Brandon Scott announced that an indoor mask mandate is being reinstated throughout Baltimore City. Effective Monday, Aug. 9, at 9 a.m. face coverings are required indoors on all of Loyola’s campuses. You may remove your mask, if you choose, when you are in personal residential spaces or a closed office and when not practical, such as while eating and drinking. This mandate is in effect regardless of vaccination status.

At this time, wearing a mask outdoors is still optional. If you feel more comfortable wearing a mask outdoors, please do so.

These are challenging times, but we will come through this together—and we are looking forward to a wonderful in-person experience as the new academic year begins. Thank you for doing your part to get vaccinated against COVID-19 and working to keep yourself and others in our community safe and healthy.

Sincerely,

Amanda M. Thomas, Ph.D.
Interim President
