Student added to Presidential Search Committee

This message was sent to the Loyola community on Wednesday, April 21.

Dear Members of the Loyola Community,

As we are moving forward with the search for Loyola’s next president, we want to make sure we include our students’ perspectives in the process. We have invited students to participate in upcoming listening sessions, but I can see real value in also including a student on the search committee. I have asked Trevor Tormann, ’22, to serve on the committee, and he has accepted.

A political science major with a minor in economics, Trevor is the incoming student body president for the 2021-2022 year. A resident of Allentown, Pa., Trevor has served as an Evergreen, participates on the Dean of Loyola College Student Advisory Board, and has previously been a class senator and class president. In 2019, Trevor was one of Loyola’s Social Impact Fellows, working with his peers to employ design thinking techniques to focus on amending Loyola’s campus diversity statement and the diversity core curriculum requirement.

I’m grateful to Trevor for being willing to serve on the presidential search committee and look forward to the input from many members of our community through the listening sessions and the feedback form on the Presidential Search website. Thank you for your continued interest in the search process.

Sincerely,

Gerry Holthaus, ’71
Chair, Presidential Search Committee
