Loyola University Maryland’s department of pastoral counseling offers unique opportunities for continuing education (CE). We are located conveniently in Columbia, MD between Washington, DC and Baltimore. As pioneers in the fields of psychology and pastoral counseling, the faculty at Loyola expertly integrates spirituality with psychology, creating a new lens with which to approach professional continuing education opportunities.
Licensed counselors seeking to continue their professional education can meet peers from the area and enhance their counseling and research skills. We strive to provide several continuing education opportunities each year presented by our faculty, as well as by nationally recognized leaders in mental health.
Loyola University Maryland has been approved by NBCC as an Approved Continuing Education Provider, ACEP No. 4250. Programs that do not qualify for NBCC credit are clearly identified. Loyola University Maryland is solely responsible for all aspects of the programs. Each CE event seeks to offer a collegial environment inviting individuals to meet seminar/workshop objectives in a manner that will facilitate practical application to professional settings. All CE provider credentials are reviewed and approved by the director of CE in the department of pastoral counseling and by Loyola University Maryland’s office for planning and accreditation. As such, the selected CE programing falls in line with the department of pastoral counseling therapeutic approach which addresses both the psychological and spiritual dimensions of those in need of mental health care.
