Biography

Albert Dorsey Jr. earned his B.A. at San Diego State University and his M.A. and Ph.D. at The Florida State University. Before joining Loyola, he taught at a number of universities, including the University of California Riverside, the University of North Florida, and Florida State University. His forthcoming book focuses on the 1874 Vicksburg, Mississippi massacre. His teaching interests are United States and African American history with specific focus on human and civil rights, from the 13th amendment to the present.
