Biography
Alan Roe is a Visiting Assistant Professor. He received his Ph.D. from Georgetown University and his M.A. from the University of Montana. He specializes in Russian history and global environmental history and has research interests in landscape protection, rivers, tourism, and international environmental protection institutions. His monograph, Into Russian Nature: Tourism, Environmental Protection, and National Parks in the Twentieth Century, was published by Oxford University Press in 2020. At Loyola, he will be teaching classes in Soviet history, European history, and the global history of communism.
