On Friday, April 26th, the Emerging Scholars Symposium occurred. This was its 10th anniversary. The event began with the presentation of medals for excellence. Pictured here are the recipients of the Doctoral Medal for Excellence in Psychology (Hilary Rushton) and the Masters Medal for Excellence in Psychology (Megan Ingraham). Eight other graduate students thereafter presented their research in a poster session format on topics that ranged from attachment to trauma, to suicidal ideation to psychotherapy among forced migrants to coping to Latino cultural values and parenting to grit and mental health. It was a wonderful event to highlight the stellar scholarship accomplished by our fine graduate students with the support of their psychology faculty mentors.
