About

Marissa graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science in Human Development from Binghamton University in New York. She received her Master’s of Science in Speech-Language Pathology and an Advanced Certificate in Autism Spectrum Disorders from Brooklyn College. Marissa is licensed by the Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene and is certified by the American Speech Language Hearing Association (ASHA). Previously, Marissa was employed at an elementary school in Queens, New York and at a middle school in Boca Raton, Florida. Marissa has extensive experience working with children who present with a wide range of communication disorders, including language-based learning disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, articulation, pragmatics, and fluency. She enjoys attending workshops and is particularly interested in pragmatic language impairment and social skills. Marissa is certified in the Orton-Gillingham Reading Program, with additional trainings in Story Grammar Marker, Lively Letters, and Social Thinking. She has provided trainings for teachers while working in New York and served as a mentor for students. Marissa is currently working part-time at an elementary school and is excited to be working as a part-time clinical supervisor at Loyola University. Marissa enjoys yoga, spending time with family and friends, traveling, and baking. She recently moved to Maryland and lives in Ellicott City with her husband, Kevin and labradoodle, Harry.
