Nora Frenkiel

Professor Frenkiel joined the Writing Department as a lecturer in September 2019 after a decade as affiliate faculty in the Communications Department teaching a full range of media writing courses and where she continues to teach the Senior Capstone in Magazine Publishing. 

She joined the faculty following her career as a journalist —which brought her to Baltimore to work as a feature writer at The Sun—and her work as a Legal Aid attorney and advocate for children in the foster care system. Her work has been published in The New York TimesThe Washington Post and others newspapers and magazines. Her research has focused on parental rights, families, genetics, and the law.
