Honors Program at a Glance

  • Loyola’s Honors Program focuses on the whole person, supporting and challenging students to refine and deepen their ability to think critically and explore the intersection of faith and reason.
  • Students engage in a dialogue with great thinkers, writers, and artists—from ancient to modern—to understand how ideas have shaped, and continue to shape, our world.
  • Classes are small, combining lectures with discussion and student presentations, all with a focus on effective speaking and writing.
  • Faculty are teacher-scholars who love learning—and communicate that love to students. Honors professors take a deep personal interest in their students and are available for individual consultation, mentorship, and guidance.
  • A rich extracurricular experience awaits Honors students: cultural and social events, lectures, and excursions both within and beyond the Baltimore-Washington area.
