Open House Campus Community Resource Guide
Welcome to the campus community resource guide for undergraduate admission open house programs on February 15, March 14, & April 18! We compiled this information based on common questions we have received from faculty, staff, and administrators who volunteered for our open houses in the past. Accepted Student Open Houses – Feb. 15, March 14, & April 18
Prospective Student Audience
Our Accepted Student Open Houses are typically attended by admitted high school seniors and transfer students for Fall 2020. For many students, this will be their first visit to campus. This year, we are anticipating 1,300-1,600 guests on campus for each event.
Event Program & Session Location
9:00 AM - 10:00 AM – President’s Welcome - Reitz Arena
10:15 AM - 10:55 AM – Academic & Special Interest Session I - Various Locations
11:10 AM - 11:50 AM – Academic & Special Interest Session II - Various Locations
12:00 PM - 2:00 PM – Lunch, Campus Tours, and Information Fair - Various Locations
1:00 PM - 2:30 PM – Fitness & Aquatic Center Self-Guided Tour - Fitness & Aquatic Center (FAC)
2:30 PM – Program Ends
A detailed schedule of the day will be made available on the week of the event.
Parking & Arrival
Due to extremely limited campus parking, faculty and administrators are asked to park at the Triangle satellite lot on Cold Spring Lane, or utilize street parking. Jenkins lot is reserved for visitors and any participants requiring accessible parking. Thank you for your understanding. Please plan to arrive by 9:30 a.m.
Academic & Special Interest Session Presentations (running from 10:15-11:50)
Please check in with the admission representative at your session location between 9:30 a.m. and 9:45 a.m. Please be prepared to present in 2 sessions, each lasting 40 minutes with a 15 minute break in between. Session times are listed below:
10:15 – 10:55: Session I
11:10 – 11:50: Session II
Presentation PowerPoint or Slideshow
If you would like Event Services to set up your PowerPoint presentation in advance of your arrival, please send your presentation to Shanelle Grier (firstname.lastname@example.org) no later than Monday, March 9.
We welcome and encourage you to recruit student volunteers to attend the open house with you and participate in the sessions, information fair, and lunch. We will make additional nametags available at the sessions and the information fair for any that will join you.
Lunch (available from 12:00-2:00)
Lunch will be available for faculty, staff, and student volunteers in Reitz Arena, as well as in the Sellinger VIP Lounge beginning at 10:30 a.m.
Information Fair (running from 12:00-2:00)
The Information Fair will be held in the west side of Reitz Arena, with lunch available on the east side. Admission staff will make the Major Information Cards, produced by departments in conjunction with MarComm, available to every academic department/program. Please email Kelly Lussier (email@example.com) if your planned set-up will require access to an electrical outlet or other accommodations.
