Open House Campus Community Resource Guide

Welcome to the campus community resource guide for the Fall Open Houses. Our in-person Open Houses will be held on October 23, November 6, and November 13, and our online Open Houses will be held on November 8, 9, and 11. We compiled this information based on common questions we have received from faculty, staff, and administrators who volunteered for our open houses in the past. If you would like us to add additional information to this page, please send an email to and a member of our team will follow up with you.

In-Person Open Houses – Oct. 23, Nov. 6, & Nov. 13

Prospective Student Audience

Our Fall Open Houses are intended for high school seniors and transfer students, however high school sophomores and juniors are welcome to attend. For many students, this will be their first visit to campus, though they may have already attended an online event. This year, we are anticipating 100-150 students (250-400 guests) on campus for each event.

Faculty & Administrator Participation

Unlike previous Fall Open Houses, our In-person Fall Open Houses for this year were designed on a smaller scale in order to allow for social distancing and prevent crowding in small spaces. As a result, these events will not include individual department sessions and will instead include a Faculty Panel. We have worked with Deans & Associate Deans to identify panelists for each event. We will include individual department sessions in our Online Open House week (see below).

Online Open Houses – Nov. 8, 9, & 11

Prospective Student Audience

Our Online Fall Open Houses are intended for high school seniors and transfer students, however high school sophomores and juniors are welcome to register. These events have been promoted as an opportunity for students to do a deep-dive into academic and special interest sessions and to hear directly from administrators and faculty.

The programming will include a general overview of the event topic and then include breakout sessions which students will be welcome to attend to learn more and chat with administrators and faculty members directly.

Faculty & Administrator Participation

Unlike our In-person Fall Open Houses, our Online Open House week will include individual department breakout sessions. The programming will include a general overview for the first 10 minutes, followed by individual breakout room sessions where faculty and administrators will be expected to host a 50-minute presentation. The presentation should include an overview of the academic department or special interest group, followed by an opportunity for Q&A with prospective students and their families.
