I strongly believe it was the grace of God that led me to applying and being accepted on this trip, not once but twice! My motivation to apply to this program comes from my desire to work in faith through service. The trip to Jamaica will consist of us visiting nursing homes, a home for disabled kids, a school for boys, attending church, and most importantly building a house for a family in need.
During my previous trip to Jamaica, I encountered and shared my time with people that brought a genuine smile to my face. A woman from the nursing home, Mary Help of Christians Home Balaclava, Ioni really touched me. After I finished braiding her hair and talking to her about her life, she gave me a hug and told me she loved me. Those three words affected me in a way I cannot describe. On this trip I hope to bring the same joy to people I encounter in Jamaica as well as gain a better understanding of the world. I want to invite you to come along with us on this immersion trip. Although you might not be able to physically go with us, you can help by donating whatever you can to the trip. Your donations will enable us to provide materials necessary for building the house as well as necessary provisions for families in need.
