World Water Day

Friday, March 22nd is World Water Day 2013! This is the United Nation's initiative to raise awareness for the lack of reliable access to clean water around the globe. Water.org, Matt Damon's NGO, only need $25 to provide clean water to someone for the rest of their life.

World Water Day Events:

  • Come visit our table on the quad from 11:00am - 2:00pm to learn more about World Water Day. 
  • There will be a water day themed Stations of the Cross in Alumni Chapel at 4:15pm. 
  • There's work to do, so wear blue! Wear blue on Friday to show your support. 

Did you know?

  • 783 million people do not have access to clean water
  • 1/3 of the world population does not have access to a toilet
  • Every 20 seconds, a child dies from a water-related illness
  • 85% of the population lives in the driest half of the planet
  • Water availability is expected to decrease in certain regions
