Any student interested in using Loyola's Motor Pool to get to service and who has a driver's license is strongly encouraged to complete the Motor Pool authorization process and to be willing to drive his or her group if needed.
I understand the policy above. If I plan to use Motor Pool and have a driver’s license, I am an authorized driver, in the process of driver authorization, or I have seriously considered becoming an authorized driver. Otherwise, I do not have a driver’s license or I plan to get to service by means other than Loyola Motor Pool vehicles.
Students may choose to walk, take public transit, use Uber/Lyft/cabs, or may take personal vehicles to service instead of taking advantage of Motor Pool. If a student chooses to drive or ride in a personal, then that vehicle, the driver, and all passengers in the vehicle will be covered by the vehicle owner’s insurance in the event of a traffic incident; Loyola University Maryland is not responsible. In cases where students are driving other students in a personal vehicle, we encourage them to inform the vehicle owner (if a parent or someone else who isn’t the student) that there will be passengers in the car covered by the vehicle owner’s policy.
For those that would like to use a Loyola University car from Motorpool, please note that you will be responsible for tickets incurred due to any speeding, parking or other moving violations while driving a Loyola University vehicle. The ticket payment will be your responsibility and not Loyola’s. If you do not complete the payment to CCSJ in 30 days after being informed about the incident, your student account will be charged.
I know that I am generally expected to complete a minimum of 20 hours of service this semester. Access the Service-Learning Need-Know Information.
I have read and understand this agreement and the contents of all written documents regarding this program.
