Innov8MD Mentor Dinner Series
On April 29, 2019, CI&E hosted the Innov8MD Social Impact Mentor, which connected students with mentors to help with their nonprofit, social enterprise, or other social-impact idea. Innov8MD, a nonprofit organization committed to supporting student innovation in Maryland, holds mentor dinners on a regular basis at participating universities in the Baltimore region, so be on the lookout for more dates.

On February 21, 2019, CI&E hosted our second social Hackathon, with our York Road partner, Rebuilding Together. Students, alumni, faculty, staff, and community members worked in teams to practice the basics of user-centered design (or design thinking) to address the question, "How Might We share the value of the Rebuilding Together volunteer experience?" Our partner walked away with some strong ideas to implement with volunteers and donors, and we look forward to updates from them on their successes.
Rebuilding Together is devoted to providing critical home repairs to low-income seniors, families, and people with disabilities who live in the Baltimore area. Since 1989 they have mobilized over 20,000 volunteers to repair more than 1,300 homes in Baltimore City and Baltimore County. If you'd like to get involved with Rebuilding Together, visit their website to learn more.

Community Launch Week
The Center for Innovation & Entrepreneurship (CI&E) hosted a community launch week on the Evergreen campus from Nov. 12-16, 2018. The CI&E Launch Week featured pop-up interactive innovation exercises, discussions, speakers, activities, and other events that engaged the Loyola and Baltimore communities with the new Center.
Wendy Bolger, the Center’s founding director, shared, "The Launch Week is a way to introduce the Center to the community and to spark our creativity to think about how what we do at Loyola can be part of building a more innovative culture on campus.”
