Can I bring someone with me?
Yes! You are welcome to bring two adult guests, and children. Children (under age 18) must be supervised by an adult.
Is babysitting available?
Children must be supervised by an adult. If you are not the parent or legal guardian of the child you are bringing, please contact us to complete a waiver form that must be signed by the child's parent or legal guardian. We may have kid-friendly events depending on the number of children who register.
Is it okay to come by myself?
Of course! The whole idea is to meet some new people. We're looking forward to meeting you.
Should I eat beforehand?
We will feed you! We will start the event with a casual dinner and dessert. We plan to serve salads, wraps, sandwiches, pasta salad, cookies, brownies, and assorted drinks and water.
Can I arrive late?
Yes, we will have the food out at least until 6:30 or 7 p.m., and you can join in whatever events the group decides to do when you arrive.
I can't stay long. Can I just eat and run?
Of course. You're welcome just to eat and maybe meet a few folks.
How about parking?
The FAC has its own parking lot at 4900 N. Charles Street, and the gates should be open for the event after 5p.m. Parking is FREE.
Where should I go when I walk into the FAC?
As soon as you walk into the FAC, you will see our GSO table. Food will be catered and will be upstairs in Room 205. You will also see our GSO banner there that should help guide the way.
How should I dress?
That depends. If you want to play, please dress appropriately for that. You will have access to a climbing wall, basketball, racquetball, badminton, volleyball, and more. If you just want to eat and watch, that's fine too! Or just change when you get to the FAC.
I missed registration. Is it too late?
We don't want to turn away anyone, and will do our best to accommodate you. Please send us an email at firstname.lastname@example.org to let us know how many are coming, and we will confirm.
Do I have to be a member of the FAC to attend?
Nope. This event is free and open to all Loyola graduate students and their families / significant others. If you are not a member, we will ask you to simply fill out a release agreement when you arrive.
I don't know if I want to compete. What are we doing?
You don't have to compete, but we will have opportunities to play a variety of sports depending on the interest of attendees, and how many want to play. We are thinking about playing dodgeball, basketball, kickball, spikeball, and more. If you prefer individual activities, you are welcome to swim, use the climbing wall, the jogging track, and so on.
I registered, but now I can't make it. Now what?
We would really appreciate you letting us know if you can't make it as soon as possible. This will help us in our planning, and to avoid food waste.
