Graduate Assistant for Graduate Student Services

Hours & Wages

$16/hour, 4-6 hours/week (50% stipend, 50% scholarship)

Qualifications
  • Strong desire to create a sense of inclusion and belonging among graduate students
  • Excellent interpersonal /communication skills
  • Good organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Experience in marketing, social media, and desktop publishing desired
  • Sense of creativity
  • Ability to be self-directed and work independently
Responsibilities
  • Plan and host events of interest (eg. Social events, service events, local trips) to the graduate student community
  • Serve as a leader for the Graduate Student Organization, a student-run organization representing all graduate students at Loyola.
  • Assist in publishing graduate student newsletter
  • Assist in marketing events to campus community at the Columbia, Evergreen, and Timonium campuses in-person and through digital / social media
  • Conduct interest surveys and program evaluations to identify potential programs, and assess completed events
  • Collaborate as needed with administrative and academic departments to assist them in providing programs and services for the graduate student community
  • Assist in giving occasional brief presentations about graduate student events and services at program orientations
  • Other duties as assigned in support of graduate student programs and services
  • Some night and weekend work will be required while hosting events
