Position & Description
|
Graduate Assistantship for Liturgy
This position assists in the worship life of the University Community in collaboration with the
sacristan team of undergraduate interns. The position oversees weekly 11 am and 5 pm Sunday
Masses in the Alumni Chapel, as well as the organization and execution of key University-wide
events like Mass of the Holy Spirit and Baccalaureate Mass.

Hours & Wages
|
The GA position is a part-time position, 15 hours per week. The GA will be compensated at an hourly rate of $18 per hour.

Qualification
|
- Enrolled as a graduate student at Loyola University Maryland
- Experience as a sacristan, altar server, or liturgical minister
- Familiarity with the structure and elements of Mass
- Ability to form and direct student liturgical ministers
- Superior organization and time management skills
- Desire to develop liturgical leadership skills
- Must attend on-campus training days in late August

Responsibilities
|
- Maintain regular office hours and a frequent presence in Campus Ministry office for 15 hours per week.
- Assist in the organization and administration of all Campus Ministry worship activities; oversees weekly Sunday 11 am and Sunday 5 pm Masses in the Alumni Chapel
- Plans and leads initial and ongoing liturgical ministry formation for lectors, Eucharistic Ministers, and hospitality ministers, in collaboration with the sacristan team
- Plans and facilitates worship activities outside of Mass, including Lenten prayer services
- Creates worship programs for the assembly through the use of Adobe Indesign
- Assists in writing Prayer of the Faithful (petitions) for Sunday Masses and collating scripts for presiders
- Must attend occasional staff meetings and formation days throughout the academic year (dates TBD)
- Other duties as assigned
