Graduate Assistant — Business Operations and Student Development

Hours and Wages
|
- $13,000 for 620 hours (310 hours per semester; approximately 20 hours per week)
- Compensation can be given at 50% scholarship/50% stipend or 60% scholarship/40% stipend

Responsibilities |
Business Operations
- Assist with daily business operations such as the deposit
- Represent the department at various orientations and information fairs
- Assist with the maintaining of a comprehensive recreation program including the fitness center, equipment issue and fitness programming
- Provide oversite of equipment inventory, routine maintenance and repairs of fitness areas.
- Assist with student employee applications, interviews, hiring process, training, supervision and evaluation of Operations Assistant student staff
- Assist with and have working knowledge of Fusion software and assist with training students to use Fusion software
Student Development
- Assist in managing the Operations Assistant student staff including: recruitment, hiring, training, supervision, and evaluation
- Assist the Department in developing and overseeing student all-staff training and development, including all-staff training, celebrations, social functions, recognition, service and community outreach
- Manage the department student staff hiring process.
- Manage the Student Employee of the Month and Student Employee of the Year programs
- Represent the department at various orientations and information fairs
- GAs will be required to complete several two three-hour shifts as a Building Supervisor each week (These hours will contribute to their 20 hour requirement)
Membership
- Assist with and have working knowledge of daily business operations including welcome desk and member services functions, payroll, student supervision and training
- Assist with student employee applications, interviews, hiring process, training, supervision and evaluation of welcome desk and member services staff.
- In cooperation with marketing graduate assistant, create, print and post all departmental hours of operation, member correspondence and marketing relative to daily business operations.
- Assist with and have working knowledge of CSI software and assist with implementation of Fusion software
- Check WhentoWork, the department student employee scheduling software, daily to ensure weekly schedule is correct while maintaining staff communication.
