Graduate Research Assistant to the Strategic Planning Steering Committee

The Graduate Research Assistantship to the Strategic Planning Steering Committee will work under the supervision of the Faculty Co-Lead for the Data Collection and Analysis Working Group, Dr. Frank Golom. Working under Dr. Golom’s direction, the graduate research assistant (GRA) will provide support to the working group of the Strategic Planning Steering Committee responsible for collecting and analyzing data related to the strategic planning process.

Hours & Wages


  • Hours and schedule are flexible
  • 300 hours per semester
  • 15-20 hour per week


  • Compensation will total to $4,578 per semester
    • Tuition Amount $2,289
    • Stipend Amount $2,289


  • Current enrolment in a graduate studies programs with experience in data collection and analysis.
  • Experience with qualitative data analysis and gathering benchmarking data are especially preferred.   


  • Subject knowledge and oral/written communication skills to discuss and document research progress.
  • Ability to work independently, accurately and to problem solves technical and methodological issues that arise during the research.
  • Ability to apply sound research techniques, methodology and logical critical analysis.
  • Strong organization and interpersonal skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
The GRA will be responsible for assisting Dr. Golom in a variety of research tasks, which may include helping to compile data, reviewing data sets, documenting results, analyzing focus group data, etc. in support of the working group’s research activities. This role is 90% focused on research activities and 10% on administrative duties as assigned. The GRA will be responsible for the following:


  • Research and collect data through complex techniques and procedures, library research, interviews, surveys, or other project specific methodology.
  • Assist in helping to interpret, synthesize, and analyze data.
  • Assist in preparing and editing materials for presentation.
  • Meet with coordinator and co-chair on regular basis to maintain ongoing communication regarding the quality of the assistant’s performance.
  • Schedule, organize, and report on status of research activities.
  • Perform other related duties as required.
