Qualifications |
The successful candidate must:
- Be enrolled in a graduate program in psychology, or related field
- Be able to work through the 2018‐2019 academic year
- Have an Interest in, and enthusiasm for, college student wellness, as
it relates to alcohol and other drug use
- Maintain office hours reflective of current departmental needs
- Desire to work individually with a traditional college age population
- Be experienced with one‐on‐one interviewing and screening
techniques
- Have strong verbal, written, and organizational skills
- Have strong social media and web‐based promotional skills

Responsibilities |
Facilitate BASICS (Brief Alcohol Screening and Intervention for College Students) sessions for individual students (training provided) and
maintain database of BASICS records. The BASICS program uses
a harm reduction approach and is designed to:
- Promote a non‐judgmental environment to help students explore
their alcohol use
- Reduce risky behavior and harmful consequences of alcohol abuse
- Identify changes that could help students reduce their risk
- Provide important information and skills for risk reduction as it
relates to alcohol use
- Assist in the development and dissemination of wellness
communication materials, including using social media to publicize
LIVEWELL events
- Conduct process and outcome evaluations/assessments on LIVEWELL
programs and wellness initiatives
