Welcoming All New Hounds

TO THE CLASS OF 2022:

I can’t believe how fast time flies, it has almost been a month since all of our new hounds have come to campus! Most of you have probably already begun to adjust to the evergreen campus, but in case if there are still some things that you are trying to figure out, I would like to share some tips and tricks on maneuvering through Loyola’s beautiful campus.

1. Dining Around Campus

In recent years, Loyola has expanded its dining options immensely with seven different locations around campus offering meal options for students. Be sure to try out all of the options and let us know which one is your favorite!

Newman Towers – Iggy’s Market, Night Hound
Humanities Building – The Refectory
Sellinger Hall – Sellinger On-The-Go
DeChairo College Center – Cold Spring Sushi, Starbucks
Andrew White Student Center – Taqueria, Green Peel, Boulder Garden Café
Flannery O’Connor Hall – Flannery Market
Fitness & Aquatic Center – FitWell Café

2. Fitness Programs and Facilities

In addition to Loyola’s dinning services, the campus also offers state of the art work out facilities that have something to offer for everyone. The main fitness center has 7 flat screen televisions, 41 cardiovascular machines, 7 ellipticals, dumbbell and barbell workout stations, 5 multi-station machines, 19 weight machines, and a stretching and ab area. In addition to the traditional fitness center, the FAC also offers group exercise classes ranging in anything from Absolution and Bike to the Barre to Hound Pound, Yoga Stretch, and Zumba. Also be sure to check out the aquatic center, outdoor adventures, club sports, and intramural sports!

The FAC is open Monday – Thursday from 6:00 am – 11:30 pm, Friday 6:00 am – 9:00 pm, Saturday 9:00 am – 9:00 pm, and Sunday 1:00 pm – 11:30 pm.

To sign up for classes offered at the FAC go to http://www.imleagues.com/spa/fitness/fqE212ISfn7heZFLnxNZEQMM/home or download the Imleagues app.

3. Loyola’s Transportation Services

Knowing all of the amenities that the FAC offers is one thing, but how about getting there? The Loyola shuttle makes stops at the FAC, Cathedral, Lange Court, Newman, Sellinger, Maryland Hall, Boulder Café, Butler, Hammerman, the Library and all the way over to senior side. And when you are trying to get to Ridley to support Loyola athletics on game days, the shuttle also takes you there! For live tracking to stay up to date on where the shuttle is you can download the Double Map App.

The Shuttle runs Monday – Friday from 6:00 am – 11:30 pm and Saturday – Sunday from 9:30 am – 12:30 am.
