Socius and Admonitor, Maryland Province
Fr. Vincent Conti, S.J., earned his undergraduate degree is from Loyola University Maryland in 1990, and immediately after graduation entered the Maryland Province of the Jesuits.
He began his novitiate training at the Novitiate of St. Isaac Jogues (Wernersville, PA), and took his first vows in 1992. Following vows, Fr. Conti was sent to study philosophy at St. Louis University (St. Louis, MO), earning an MA in philosophy in 1995.
From 1995 to 1998, Fr. Conti was assigned to Georgetown Preparatory School (North Bethesda, MD) to teach, work in campus ministry, and proctor in the boarding school, after which he was sent to study theology at the Weston Jesuit School of Theology (Cambridge, MA). Fr. Conti earned his theology degree (a Master’s of Divinity) and was ordained a deacon.
Fr. Conti was ordained a priest in June 2001, and was assigned to Holy Trinity Parish (Washington, DC) as an associate pastor. In 2003, Fr. Conti was assigned to Scranton Preparatory School (Scranton, PA), where he worked for the next six years as Latin teacher, special assistant to the Scranton Prep’s President, and finally as an assistant principal.
In the spring of 2009, Fr. Conti was selected as Headmaster of Gonzaga College High School (Washington, DC), where he served for four years, before being sent to Australia to complete the final phase of Jesuit training: tertianship. It was during tertianship that Fr. Conti was named Socius of the Maryland Province, serving as the Provincial’s chief-of-staff and principal counselor.
