Frequently Asked Questions

What are the changes to the On-Campus Shuttle Route?

The Green Route, which is the default route that the shuttles travel around campus, is being split into smaller, more predictable routes.

What are the new route names, and where do they go?

Some of the routes already exist (Cathedral Express and York/FAC routes); new ones being added are Newman/FAC and East Campus/FAC routes.  Maps of each may be found at the New Route Maps page, and the stops on each route in order of service may be found at the Route Stops page.

  1. Cathedral Express: will follow the existing morning route at all times while operating.  The shuttle stops will now be accessed from the south side (building side) of Ennis Parallel for both arrival from & departure to the Cathedral Lot.  The Cathedral route will run 7:00 am to 7:00 pm weekdays during the school year; the current times that it will not run will be the same: after Graduation in May, Christmas break and until students return for the second semester, and any day that Loyola is closed as a holiday within the first and second academic semesters.
  2. York/FAC: a new route started in September, service is weekdays at 8:15 am through 3:45 pm, departing 5104 York Road. Stops on the route may be found on the Route Stops page.
  3. Newman/FAC: Service begins at 7:00 am weekdays through 7:00 pm during 1st & 2nd semesters, holidays & University closures excepted.  Stops on the route may be found on the Route Stops page.
  4. East Campus/FAC: Service begins at 7:00 weekdays through 7:00 pm during 1st & 2nd semesters, holidays & University closures excepted. Stops on the route may be found on the Route Stops page.

Not every route hits every stop?

That's correct. Each route has the Sellinger Hall, Maryland Hall, and Boulder Cafe stops in common.  These will serve as hub stops to catch a different shuttle to get to your specific destination.  Doublemap will show each route as a separate color for visual distinction.

With shorter individual routes, shuttles will pass by these 3 common stops with greater frequency..

What time does service begin and end? What happens outside of the time frames shown for each route?

Shuttle service start & end times are shown below by day:

Monday through Thursday: 6:00 am to 12:00 am

Friday: 6:00 am to 1:15 am

Saturday and Sunday:  9:30 am to 1:15 am

Service outside of the weekday 7:00 am to 7:00 pm will follow the current Green route, with the following changes:

  • No service to Cathedral while the Cathedral Express is operating.
  • No service from the Cathedral Lot after 7:00 pm.  Loyola community members who park at the Cathedral Lot prior to 7:00 pm will be taken back to the Cathedral Lot upon request after 7:00 pm.  Please call 410-617-5010 and advise the Dispatcher that you need a ride up to the Cathedral Lot.
  • Available options for evening campus parking if you arrive after 7:00 pm are 5104 York Road, the Triangle Lot, and Butler Lot, as well as street parking on Charles Street and Coldspring Lane.
  • We will be monitoring all routes and will adjust service as needed to meet demonstrated consistent ridership demand.

What about service to Ridley?

We will continue to service Ridley through a combination of request and scheduled service; we will be working more closely with Athletics to plot out expected need for service. For game days, we will continue to augment service with Woodlawn school buses to handle the additional need at those times.
