Graduate Assistant for the Honor Council |
| Responsibilities |
- Recruitment & Case Management
- Provide organizational support for all operations of the Loyola University Honor Council,
including managing email, schedules, documentation, hearings, and meetings.
- Maintain organization and confidentiality of case files, records, and digital recordings.
Coordinate the tracking of cases with the Associate Director of Student Integrity
and the Dean of Undergraduate Studies.
- Schedule all undergraduate Honor Code hearings, select hearing panel members, and
manage communication with faculty and student participants.
- Coordinate hearing logistics, including room reservations and accommodations.
- Contact accused students and correspond with faculty reporting academic integrity
concerns; explain hearing procedures and next steps.
- Prepare correspondence and decision letters for Honor Council hearings.
- Assist the Associate Director of Student Integrity with Honor Council development
initiatives.
- Honor Council Recruitment, Advising, and Office Hours
- Coordinate student nomination and recruitment processes for Honor Council membership.
- Prepare the annual Honor Council report for distribution to the campus community.
- Maintain regular office hours (minimum of 5 hours per week).
- Lead tabling outreach events to promote academic integrity education.
- Student Development Division
- Participate in weekly case management meetings, biweekly office-staff meetings, quarterly
trainings, and professional development activities.
- Attend January GA training (Thursday/Friday before January Opening; 9:00 a.m.–5:00
p.m.).
- Complete other duties as assigned.

Hours and Wages
|
The GA will receive hourly compensation of $20 per hour for up to 15 hours per week. |
| Qualifications |
- Bachelor’s degree and full-time enrollment in a Loyola University Maryland graduate
program.
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills, including excellent
written communication.
- Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and experiences.
- Knowledge of common college student experiences, challenges, and developmental needs.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate, supervise, and/or advise
student leaders.
- Ability to manage multiple projects independently while maintaining attention to detail.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Teams, with a willingness to learn new
technologies (training provided as needed).
- High level of professionalism, integrity, and commitment to ethical conduct.

| Expectations |
- The SIRJ Graduate Assistant employment period is for the entire academic year, starting
on Monday, August 3, 2026, and ending on Sunday, May 16, 2027.
- Honor Council Graduate Assistants are required to work 10-15 hours/week to meet the
terms of their contract. Of the 15 hours, at least 5 hours must consist of in-person
office hours in the Office of Student Integrity.
- GAs will primarily work in-person Monday to Friday, between 9 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.,
with occasional evening and weekend hours as needed.
- GAs are expected to adhere to all University policies. Any violation of university
policy shall result in referrals to the university Student Integrity process and,
pending the outcome, result in probation or termination of employment.
- The Director of Student Integrity and Restorative Justice Practices (or their designee)
must approve any adjustments to the approved schedules for all GAs. All extracurricular
activities, outside employment, or non-credit internships must be discussed in advance
with the Director of SIRJ (or their designee) prior to being accepted by the GA. If
approved, these changes must be put in writing. Please note that no more than 10 hours
per week of these activities will be approved.
- GAs must fulfil all expectations outlined in this document and their contract. Failure
to meet any of these expectations will result in job action, which includes but is
not limited to written warning, suspension/loss of pay, and/or termination from the
assistantship.
