Presidential Inauguration of Terrence M. Sawyer, J.D.

October 9–12, 2022

This historic moment for Loyola invites us to reflect with gratitude on the past, embrace the excitement of the present, and look ahead to the future with optimism, renewal, and hope. “Aspire not to have more,” St. Oscar Romero said, “but to be more.”

As we come together to mark the beginning of this new chapter, the Board of Trustees of Loyola University Maryland invites all members of our community to celebrate the inauguration of Loyola’s 25th president, Terrence M. Sawyer, J.D., and to consider how this moment in time calls us to be more—more as individuals and more together.

His career at Loyola started in 1998. Since then, President Sawyer has served the University in several roles as an administrator, taught as an affiliate faculty member, and led with a heart and mind tied to Loyola’s Jesuit, Catholic mission.
