Jerel Fitzgerald joined the Loyola University Maryland Department of Recreational Sports in February of 2014 as a Program Assistant. In his position, Jerel is responsible for all equipment room operations, student payroll and provides assistance to the professional staff where needed. He provides oversight and staff supervision of the Equipment Room staff.
Jerel is a native of the Baltimore area, where he was Valedictorian of his high school class. He went on to receive his Bachelors of Science in Sports Management with a minor in Business Administration in 2009 from Towson University. Following graduation, he went on to work in several different organizations in different capacities. He’s currently working as a Program Assistant in the Recreational Sports Department at Loyola University Maryland and creating and building his brand, Fitz Fitness.
In addition to receiving his degree, Jerel has received his personal training certification from NFPT in the summer of 2013 and his Pre-Diabetes Life Coaching certification through the CDC in the summer of 2015. He’s currently studying in preparation to receive his Nutrition Specialist certification through NFPT as well. In his spare time when he’s not working out or training clients, Jerel spends a lot of time doing community service and social projects with his fraternity, Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. He’s a big fan of all sports teams in the Baltimore Metropolitan area. He also enjoys video games, movies, music and board games.
