Living at The Woodberry

Where is The Woodberry?

The Woodberry at 2001 W Cold Spring Lane in Baltimore is about 1.5 miles west of campus adjacent to the Ridley Athletic Complex property. Perched at the edge of a park and a wooded grove, The Woodberry is your connection to nature as you dwell in this contemporary setting. Along with its serene surroundings, the building offers direct and easy access to downtown Baltimore and other nearby neighborhoods through its prime location near I-83 and an adjacent Light Rail stop. The Jones Falls Trail is just outside the front door, perfect for biking and exercising.

What is the difference in cost of living on campus and living at The Woodberry?

Living in The Woodberry will cost the same amount as living in an apartment on campus.

Will my financial aid cover living at The Woodberry?

Yes! Since the University has signed a master lease with The Woodberry, your financial aid package will be the same as if you were living on campus.

Will my roommates and I have to pay for utilities and Internet?

No. You and your roommates will pay one flat fee, just as if you lived in a residence hall. Utilities, including internet, will be functioning when you move in. If you and your roommates want a television package, you will need to subscribe directly through a streaming provider, like YouTube TV, Hulu with Live TV, AT&T TV, Philo, etc. 

I have a car. Will I be able to park at The Woodberry and on campus?

Yes! If you register a car, you can park at the Loyola Fitness and Aquatic Center as well as The Woodberry at the rate of $500 for the academic year 

Will there be Loyola transportation to The Woodberry?

There will be Loyola transportation to The Woodberry. More information will be shared in the future. The Loyola Escort will not be able to provide service to The Woodberry.

What does an apartment at The Woodberry look like?

We are offering a variety of apartments, ranging from 1-bedroom (2 people) apartments to 3-bedroom (6 people) apartments. See the floor plans. Each apartment also has a kitchen including a dishwasher. All apartments have washers and dryers, and the Loyola laundry fee will apply for those units.

What amenities are available at The Woodberry?

The Woodberry is a brand-new building and has amazing amenities. Take advantage of their clubhouse to relax and unwind after a long day. Find your work-play balance with features like a tech-savvy business center and game room. Make a splash in the swimming pool or work up a sweat in the 24-hour fitness center. Safety is important to me. What safety measures can I expect at The Woodberry? 

Each resident will be issued a key fob which is used for entrance into The Woodberry and into their residence. 

Will I have to bring my own furniture?

Loyola will provide furniture at no additional cost. 

Do I have to leave my apartment during breaks like I do when I live on campus? 

No! You are welcome to stay in your apartment for the full time of your contract and do not have to leave during University break periods. You will need to move out at the end of your Loyola housing contract.

Do I have to have a meal plan if I live at The Woodberry? 

Students who are assigned to The Woodberry who do not have a meal plan assigned to them will automatically be enrolled in the Senior Points plan and charged $820 per semester on your student account. All Woodberry residents have the option to buy-up to a larger meal plan or opt out of the meal plan program. To change your meal plan please log into the RoomRez portal via InsideLoyola and click "Change Meal Plan" on the navigation bar. Please note, it may take up to 5 business days for your tuition bill to reflect your meal plan change.

What are the advantages to being a resident at The Woodberry through this special partnership with Loyola?

As a student in Loyola housing at The Woodberry, you enjoy all the amenities of The Woodberry, but without needing to pay a security deposit or sign and pay for a year-long lease. You can enjoy an apartment that is fully furnished. Utilities (excluding cable) are included in the Loyola housing fee. Students interested in a television package will need to subscribe directly through a streaming provider, like YouTube TV, Hulu with Live TV, At&T TV, Philo, etc. Students will not be able to subscribe to Xfinity residential cable. All units have washers and dryers, and the Loyola laundry fee will apply. A Loyola staff member will be on site, prepared to assist and support students. Public safety will provide support to students in Loyola housing at The Woodberry. And The Woodberry is also located near the Ridley Athletic Complex property.

Since The Woodberry is different from the traditional residence halls, do all Loyola rules  and expectations still apply to me?

While The Woodberry is not a traditional residence hall, it is considered Loyola housing, so all the same rules and expectations do apply.  All Loyola students whether on or off campus are expected to abide by the Community Standards and COVID-19 health and safety requirements/guidelines.
